Aloft Liverpool

The Grade II listed, Royal Insurance Building is considered to be one of Liverpool’s iconic buildings due to its Neo-Baroque style of architecture.

After sitting empty for 20years, the building was in a state of disrepair and listed on English Heritages, buildings at risk register.

As HE Simm’s preferred design partner, Abacus Consult were employed to carry out the full MEP services design.

The project design proved to be extremely challenging due to its Grade II listing and conservation requirements but went on to secure the 2016 project of the year at the BCI awards in the £10m-£50m category.

Baltic Village

After being abandoned for almost 10years, the Baltic Village project was re-invigorated by Promenade Estates with a new architectural design by FCH Architects.

The new scheme consisted of three residential blocks containing 324 apartments, gymnasium, cafe and Retail Units.

Abacus Consult carried out the full detailed MEP design for the project alongside Laycock Mechanical Services, Atlantic Electrical Services and Balfour Beatty.

Belong Morris Feinmann

A joint-venture between Belong and the Morris Feinmann Homes Trust, this Care Village comprises 74 en-suite rooms for 24 hour nursing and dementia care with 13 independent living apartments.

The village centre, open to the public, provides a vibrant hub for community events, with facilities including a synagogue, function rooms, kosher bistro, hair salon, exercise studio, therapy room, library and gardens, including a roof garden.

Abacus Consult Carried out the Mechanical Services design for this project, all project pinch points and plantrooms were modelled in 3D to ensure coordination.

Belong Newcastle-Under-Lyme

Belong Newcastle-under-Lyme provides 24-hour nursing and dementia care facilities for 72 residents in six households and 28 apartments for independent living, along with a range of community facilities.

Areas include bistro, exercise studio and therapy room and also a unique Heritage Gallery housed in the historic Grade II listed building that has been distinguished throughout the years as Samuel Bell’s Pottery, The Old Pomona Inn and most recently the iconic Maxims nightclub, which closed in 2006.

All services were modelled in 3D which greatly assisted in coordinating services routes against structural steelwork at the design stage.

Conversion of the Grade II Listed Maxims Nightclub was sympathetic to the buildings original character and setting and maintained a lot of the buildings original features.

Bridewell

Situated in Liverpool City Centre, the existing Bridewell is a Grade II listed Building. The former prison building was transformed into 86 Studios with ground floor reception and facilities. Full detailed design of all M&E services was carried out by Abacus Consult with particular attention being paid to integrating the modern services into the existing listed structure, with minimum impact.

Broadcasting Place

The new build development comprised of a 22 storey tower which accommodates 240 student bedrooms and over 10,000 m2 of academic space divided over two teaching/administration blocks.

Abacus Consult carried out the detailed design of the mechanical and electrical services within the two teaching/administration blocks. Heating & cooling was provided via an open loop ground source heat pump system using bore holes connected to an underground lake.

Capital Building

This scheme comprised the transformation of Liverpool’s largest office building, the former Royal Insurance headquarters, it involved a total reconstruction of the internal layout to provide over 220,000 sq. ft. of Category A office space for the United Kingdom Border Agency, together with new washroom facilities, lifts and lift lobbies. A stunning new reception was opened up to the public areas, with a floor taken out and the largest piece of commissioned artwork in Liverpool taking central stage.

Abacus Consult carried out the detailed design of M&E services for both the Category A and B office fit-outs including liaison of the installations as they progressed on site within an occupied building.

Christie Hospital

The project comprised of the altering of existing areas within the Nathan House building at the Christie Hospital site, to form a new Day Case Chemotherapy suite. Existing areas were stripped out of all finishes, M&E services were removed and significant internal demolition was carried out to allow for the new layout of the building.

Abacus Consult undertook the detailed design of the new mechanical installations that were provided throughout the department together with the more specialised installations associated with the chemotherapy pods and diagnostic areas.

City Quay

Abacus Consult undertook the design of mechanical & electrical services on the final phase of this residential site developed by David McLean Homes.

Abacus worked with Leach Rhodes Walker architects and Integra Consulting structural engineers on the new multi-storey building, comprising of 66 apartments located on the site of the old Herculaneum dock.

City Village

A high quality residential, student and retail development at Belgrade Plaza, Coventry. The development comprises of 597 student bedrooms and 12,000 sq. ft. of retail and commercial accommodation, set adjacent to Belgrade Theatre. The building rises in scale from 3 storeys adjacent the existing conservation area, up to 20 storeys on the east of the site.

Abacus Consult carried out mechanical and electrical design for this scheme modelling services in 3D where required to assist coordination at the design stage.

The project consists of two blocks with services running externally between buildings.

CitySide

The CitySide development is a 477 bedroom, student accommodation scheme located in the centre of Leeds.

The development consists of one 12 storey block and an adjacent 17 storey block which are served by a central plantroom.

At ground floor level there are several retails units and a fully equipped public gymnasium.

Abacus Consult were appointed to carry out the full MEP services design.

Deen House

The project involved the complete refurbishment of an existing office block into a 54 bed student accommodation. A new 4th floor extension was added along with laundry, office and bike store areas in the basement. The ground floor area was reconfigured to provide 3No. retail units consisting of a restaurant, chip shop and a barbers

Abacus Consult carried out the full design of the M&E services along with the management of the installations on site. We also liaised closely with the utility providers for the incoming services, carrying out load assessments and making the applications for either upgrade of supply, diverting existing services or meter upgrades.

Downtown

368 private apartment project located in Salford on the banks of River Irwell. Abacus Consult were appointed to provide detail design services of all MEP systems. During early stages of the design, close liaison with main contractor, design team and Salford Council was required to develop the design of ventilation systems to apartments in accordance with strict acoustic and air quality restraints. Accurate thermal modelling ensured that the client could avoid the use of air conditioning and thus save on carbon emissions and excessive energy use during summertime whilst maintaining comfort conditions in the apartments.

EDEN Building

Abacus Consult undertook the detailed design of the M&E services which consisted of natural stack ventilation, solar hot water system, rainwater harvesting system and a photovoltaic wall.

The project consisted of the new build of a three storey teaching and conference facility which was designed to achieve a ‘Very Good’ BREEAM rating.

Epic Aparthotel

The proposed new 7 storey apart-hotel will be located on the land currently used as a surface car park in Seel Street, within Liverpool’s Ropewalks area. The hotel will provide 42 high quality apartments including 116 rooms as it will give the operator the flexibility to offer both single rooms and serviced suites and the ground floor of the development will be designated as a mix-use commercial space.

Abacus Consult have carried out performance design duties on this scheme comprising M&E performance drawings, service strategies, plantroom, switchroom and service zone sizing followed by verification of the Contractor’s M&E detailed design and verification of the site services installations as they progress throughout the installation period.

Glassworks

A 320 bed student accommodation project located in Liverpool City Centre. Domestic hot water energy usage was supplemented by gas fired CHP to generate electricity whilst making use of the resultant heat output. This enabled the space heating to be installed using a more cost effective electric panel system with energy saving controls. Full detailed design of all MEP systems were completed by Abacus Consult to a very high standard.

Gore Street

This project consists of 364 privately rented apartments and 11 townhouses at the site between Gore Street and Chapel Street near Salford Central train station.

The privately rented apartments are split across three blocks ranging between 13 and 22 storeys in height, with the blocks linked by a two-storey podium that will also provide a courtyard garden for residents.

The development also includes around 9,300 sq. ft of commercial and retail space, as well as car parking.

Abacus Consult are responsible for carrying out detailed mechanical and electrical services design and modelling on behalf of HE Simm in line with the Main Contractors BIM Execution Plan.

Grand Central

The overall development comprised of multi storey towers which accommodate 1200 student bedrooms.

In conjunction with the developer, David McLean Contractors, Abacus Consult undertook the detailed design of all mechanical and electrical services, which had a number of site constraints due to it’s city centre location.

Greenall’s Distribution Point

Mechanical & Electrical services design works were carried out to an existing warehouse facility including bottling hall, racked storage warehouse, office areas, new goods canopy, new laboratory building, external tank farms, skip compound, drum store, pallet store, upgrade of incoming site services and on-site distribution including provision for future distillery buildings and external works.

Greenbank Halls of Residence

Abacus Consult carried out the design and management of building services associated with the refurbishment of 200 student beds within the University of Liverpool’s Greenbank Halls of Residence.

The scheme was extremely fast track, being carried out over just 13 weeks and also included a new build extension to the Roscoe & Gladstone dining hall & refurbishment of the existing servery and dining hall.

Holbrook House

Holbrook House is 24 storey, purpose built student accommodation building located in the North Acton area of London.

The development consists of 497 student bedrooms, roof terrace areas, student cinema, student games areas and retail units at ground floor level.

Utilising the latest 3D modelling software, Abacus Consult have provided full MEP design.

Lea Farm

Lea Farm is a high end private residential development overlooking the Dee Estuary in Thurstaston, Wirral. Advantage was taken of the large grounds and a ground source heat pump system was installed to provide heating to underfloor systems and pool plant. The house comprises six en-suite bedrooms, large ground floor reception rooms and a leisure wing with swimming pool and spa facilities. Full M&E detail design was completed by Abacus Consult.

Media City Towers 1 & 2

This scheme when complete will comprise 4 residential towers, each tower consists of 275 apartments over 27 floors. There is a ground and first floor podium accommodation, with dining areas, laundry, gym and a large basement car park level below all 4 towers.

Abacus Consult carried out the detailed design of M&E services for the first two towers, podium levels and the basement areas which included all plantrooms and switchrooms located at basement level.

Midland Hotel

The Midland is a magnificent grade 2 listed, 44 No. bedroom art deco hotel situated in a prime position overlooking the bay of Morecambe.

The hotel had become totally run down over the years and fortunately this changed when in 2003 the building was purchased by Manchester based development company Urban Splash and Abacus Consult were selected as Mechanical and Electrical consulting engineers.

The vision for the building is to be the centre piece to a complete regeneration of the adjacent seafront area.

Ollerton Grange

Ollerton Grange is a Jacobean style, grade II listed mansion located in Knutsford, Cheshire.

The scheme included the entire refurbishment of the existing house and outbuildings, whilst adhering to strict conservation requirements and also the addition of a new build Leisure wing, consisting of Banquet Hall, Gymnasium, Swimming Pool, Jacuzzi, Sauna and Steam Rooms.

One Wolstenholme Square

The project included the renovation of an existing 3-storey warehouse, alongside further development of the site to include four new buildings with staggered heights varying from 1 to 10 storeys. The development of the site provides a mixed use scheme comprising of 427 self-contained studio apartments and 20 one bed apartments.
Large ground floor mixed use commercial spaces are located on the ground floor together with laundry, residential lobbies, refuse stores and bike-storage facilities.

Queensgate

New build office development providing 2748 m² of commercial office space over 6 floors with ground floor reception and car parking area at rear of the building.

Abacus carried out load assessments for the incoming services and organised the procurement of these services with the utility companies. The fully detailed mechanical and electrical services installations also included a biomass lead boiler providing 10% of the building’s predicted annual energy consumption.

Ramada Plaza Hotel

Abacus Consult carried out the design of mechanical & electrical services to this prestigious £7.6 million, 85 bedroom, 4 star hotel which was the first new build Ramada Plaza Hotel in the United Kingdom.

The Hotel Comprises conference facilities, meeting rooms and catering for up to 200 people. Other features include a restaurant, lounge, bar areas, swimming pool and mini gym facilities.

Roby Lodge

Abacus Consult carried out the detailed design of mechanical and electrical services for the new 54 bed care home at Meridian’s Roby site in Merseyside.

Abacus also carried out a renewable investigation and submitted a report to the local authority which demonstrated how the installation of PV and solar thermal panels would meet 10% of the building’s predicted energy consumption which was a planning requirement for the development.

Ropemaker Court

The project consisted of the timber frame construction of nine blocks comprising of 416 bed student accommodation. The development also has communal leisure rooms and laundries.

Abacus Consult were appointed to carry out the full design of the electrical services, which consisted of lighting, power, data, fire alarm, door access and CCTV systems.

Sapporo Teppanyaki, Glasgow

The project consisted of the fit-out of an existing retail unit in the heart of Glasgow City Centre to form the fantastic 200 seater Sapporo Teppanyaki Restaurant. Abacus Consult undertook the detailed design of the mechanical services which consisted of VRV air conditioning, supply and extract ventilation to each of the 10No.

Teppanyaki canopies as well as the main kitchen, LPHW heating to each of the AHU supply units and domestic hot & cold water services.

St Mary’s Village

This development provides 602 beds across 7 blocks including en-suite rooms, budget rooms, studio apartments and townhouses plus communal and administration areas. There is one standard hall, Bryn Eithin, which has shared bathrooms and kitchens.

The village also has a café/shop, laundrette, common rooms and gym.

Abacus Consult carried out the Mechanical & Electrical services design for this project. Throughout the project 29 kilometres of copper tubing and waste pipe were used for services, with 2 kilometres of underground services and 3,800 light fittings being installed. Additionally, all cluster kitchens were fitted with energy meter displays which inform the students of power usage in their block.

St Vincent’s Place

St Vincent’s Place is located in the St Vincent’s quarter of Sheffield. The property is half a mile from both The University of Sheffield main campus and the centre of Sheffield. A disused Roman Catholic Church is at the heart of this property, which is now a communal space for students who live here.

Abacus Consult Carried out mechanical and electrical design for this project consisting of 600 student bedrooms over 3 buildings split into 6 blocks, one of which is the St Vincent’s Church building dating back originally to 1853.

Services were routed externally between buildings and great care was taken to ensure that the Church retained it’s original character and features.

Tesco Express, Old Hall Street

The project consisted of the re-modelling and integration of a Tesco Express Store into the existing façade of The Capital Building, Old Hall Street, Liverpool.

Abacus Consult were involved in the design of re-routing/diverting the existing M&E services, carrying out load assessments for the incoming services and organising the procurement of these services with the utility companies.

The Arch

The project is situated adjacent to Chinatown in Liverpool city centre and provides 242 student bedrooms along with new common room areas.

The Atlas, is a 32 storey, student accommodation building.

The building consists of 570 student bedrooms and is located on South Lambeth Road, in the Vauxhall area of London.

Abacus Consult carried out the full MEP design utilising a combination of 2D CAD and 3D modelling software which proved to be particularly invaluable when carrying out the MEP services installations in the numerous plantrooms and risers.

The Atlas Leisure Centre

The Atlas leisure centre is part of Downing’s mixed use Atlas development, in Vauxhall, London.

Located on the lower floors of a new 32 storey student accommodation building, the public leisure centre offers a fully equipped gymnasium, 25metre swimming pool and numerous fitness and exercise studios.

Tower Wharf

Abacus Consult were appointed to provide full M&E Consultancy Services on this prestige 5000m2 new build office project. Category A speculative office design was completed initially before the end user came to the table. The M&E services design was then adapted to suit the final architectural layouts in accordance with the clients requirements.

Verde

Consisting of two separate buildings at 12 storeys and 10 storeys high, the Verde is a purpose built, student accommodation development which includes 543 student bedrooms, a cinema, student gymnasium, games rooms and amenity areas.

Located in the centre of Newcastle, close to the university and opposite St James’ Park, the Verde is a prestigious project forming part of the Universities Science Central Masterplan.

Walmgate

The project is situated adjacent to the River Wharf in York city centre and provides 652 student bedrooms across 3 blocks along with a new gym and common room areas.

X1 Liverpool One

This scheme comprised of 331 high quality self-contained student studios built over 3 blocks, located in a prime city centre location. The scheme includes a range of amenities from on-site gym, cinema and laundry to retail units on the ground floor.

Abacus Consult have carried out the detailed design of M&E services including thermal modelling, sbem calculations and energy performance certificates for all studios.

X1 The Edge

The Edge is a new build student development in the heart of Liverpool city centre for X1 Developments, consisting of 231 beds with a mixture of study beds and associated management, communal and recreation facilities.

Abacus Consult carried out the full design of the M&E services on this scheme and the design of the building and associated services needed to be sympathetic to the surrounding context whilst accentuating the unusually shaped plot and its proximity to the Georgian terraces buildings directly opposite to the site on Seymour Street.

This new build residential scheme located in Calderstones Park comprised 12 No. exclusive 2 & 3 bedroom luxury apartments each with private terrace and including residents gymnasium and underground car park.

In conjunction with the developer, David McLean Contractors, Abacus Consult undertook the detailed design of all mechanical and electrical services, which had a number of site constraints due to it’s city centre location.

Greenall’s Distribution Point

Mechanical & Electrical services design works were carried out to an existing warehouse facility including bottling hall, racked storage warehouse, office areas, new goods canopy, new laboratory building, external tank farms, skip compound, drum store, pallet store, upgrade of incoming site services and on-site distribution including provision for future distillery buildings and external works.

Greenbank Halls of Residence

Abacus Consult carried out the design and management of building services associated with the refurbishment of 200 student beds within the University of Liverpool’s Greenbank Halls of Residence.

The scheme was extremely fast track, being carried out over just 13 weeks and also included a new build extension to the Roscoe & Gladstone dining hall & refurbishment of the existing servery and dining hall.

Holbrook House

Holbrook House is 24 storey, purpose built student accommodation building located in the North Acton area of London.

The development consists of 497 student bedrooms, roof terrace areas, student cinema, student games areas and retail units at ground floor level.

Utilising the latest 3D modelling software, Abacus Consult have provided full MEP design.

Lea Farm

Lea Farm is a high end private residential development overlooking the Dee Estuary in Thurstaston, Wirral. Advantage was taken of the large grounds and a ground source heat pump system was installed to provide heating to underfloor systems and pool plant. The house comprises six en-suite bedrooms, large ground floor reception rooms and a leisure wing with swimming pool and spa facilities. Full M&E detail design was completed by Abacus Consult.

Media City Towers 1 & 2

This scheme when complete will comprise 4 residential towers, each tower consists of 275 apartments over 27 floors. There is a ground and first floor podium accommodation, with dining areas, laundry, gym and a large basement car park level below all 4 towers.

Abacus Consult carried out the detailed design of M&E services for the first two towers, podium levels and the basement areas which included all plantrooms and switchrooms located at basement level.

Midland Hotel

The Midland is a magnificent grade 2 listed, 44 No. bedroom art deco hotel situated in a prime position overlooking the bay of Morecambe.

The hotel had become totally run down over the years and fortunately this changed when in 2003 the building was purchased by Manchester based development company Urban Splash and Abacus Consult were selected as Mechanical and Electrical consulting engineers.

The vision for the building is to be the centre piece to a complete regeneration of the adjacent seafront area.

Ollerton Grange

Ollerton Grange is a Jacobean style, grade II listed mansion located in Knutsford, Cheshire.

The scheme included the entire refurbishment of the existing house and outbuildings, whilst adhering to strict conservation requirements and also the addition of a new build Leisure wing, consisting of Banquet Hall, Gymnasium, Swimming Pool, Jacuzzi, Sauna and Steam Rooms.

One Wolstenholme Square

The project included the renovation of an existing 3-storey warehouse, alongside further development of the site to include four new buildings with staggered heights varying from 1 to 10 storeys. The development of the site provides a mixed use scheme comprising of 427 self-contained studio apartments and 20 one bed apartments.
Large ground floor mixed use commercial spaces are located on the ground floor together with laundry, residential lobbies, refuse stores and bike-storage facilities.

Abacus Consult carried out performance design duties on this scheme comprising M&E performance tender drawings & specifications followed by verification of the Contractor’s M&E detailed design and verification of the site services installations as they progressed throughout the installation period.

Queensgate

New build office development providing 2748 m² of commercial office space over 6 floors with ground floor reception and car parking area at rear of the building.

Abacus carried out load assessments for the incoming services and organised the procurement of these services with the utility companies. The fully detailed mechanical and electrical services installations also included a biomass lead boiler providing 10% of the building’s predicted annual energy consumption.

Ramada Plaza Hotel

Abacus Consult carried out the design of mechanical & electrical services to this prestigious £7.6 million, 85 bedroom, 4 star hotel which was the first new build Ramada Plaza Hotel in the United Kingdom.

The Hotel Comprises conference facilities, meeting rooms and catering for up to 200 people. Other features include a restaurant, lounge, bar areas, swimming pool and mini gym facilities.

Roby Lodge

Abacus Consult carried out the detailed design of mechanical and electrical services for the new 54 bed care home at Meridian’s Roby site in Merseyside.

Abacus also carried out a renewable investigation and submitted a report to the local authority which demonstrated how the installation of PV and solar thermal panels would meet 10% of the building’s predicted energy consumption which was a planning requirement for the development.

Ropemaker Court

The project consisted of the timber frame construction of nine blocks comprising of 416 bed student accommodation. The development also has communal leisure rooms and laundries.

Abacus Consult were appointed to carry out the full design of the electrical services, which consisted of lighting, power, data, fire alarm, door access and CCTV systems.

Sapporo Teppanyaki, Glasgow

The project consisted of the fit-out of an existing retail unit in the heart of Glasgow City Centre to form the fantastic 200 seater Sapporo Teppanyaki Restaurant. Abacus Consult undertook the detailed design of the mechanical services which consisted of VRV air conditioning, supply and extract ventilation to each of the 10No.

Teppanyaki canopies as well as the main kitchen, LPHW heating to each of the AHU supply units and domestic hot & cold water services.

St Mary’s Village

This development provides 602 beds across 7 blocks including en-suite rooms, budget rooms, studio apartments and townhouses plus communal and administration areas. There is one standard hall, Bryn Eithin, which has shared bathrooms and kitchens.

The village also has a café/shop, laundrette, common rooms and gym.

Abacus Consult carried out the Mechanical & Electrical services design for this project. Throughout the project 29 kilometres of copper tubing and waste pipe were used for services, with 2 kilometres of underground services and 3,800 light fittings being installed. Additionally, all cluster kitchens were fitted with energy meter displays which inform the students of power usage in their block.

St Vincent’s Place

St Vincent’s Place is located in the St Vincent’s quarter of Sheffield. The property is half a mile from both The University of Sheffield main campus and the centre of Sheffield. A disused Roman Catholic Church is at the heart of this property, which is now a communal space for students who live here.

Abacus Consult Carried out mechanical and electrical design for this project consisting of 600 student bedrooms over 3 buildings split into 6 blocks, one of which is the St Vincent’s Church building dating back originally to 1853.

Services were routed externally between buildings and great care was taken to ensure that the Church retained it’s original character and features.

Tesco Express, Old Hall Street

The project consisted of the re-modelling and integration of a Tesco Express Store into the existing façade of The Capital Building, Old Hall Street, Liverpool.

Abacus Consult were involved in the design of re-routing/diverting the existing M&E services, carrying out load assessments for the incoming services and organising the procurement of these services with the utility companies.

The Arch

The project is situated adjacent to Chinatown in Liverpool city centre and provides 242 student bedrooms along with new common room areas.

Abacus Consult carried out the MEP services design for this project. The project was part new build and part refurbishment to an existing building.

The Atlas

The Atlas, is a 32 storey, student accommodation building.

The building consists of 570 student bedrooms and is located on South Lambeth Road, in the Vauxhall area of London.

Abacus Consult carried out the full MEP design utilising a combination of 2D CAD and 3D modelling software which proved to be particularly invaluable when carrying out the MEP services installations in the numerous plantrooms and risers.

The Atlas Leisure Centre

The Atlas leisure centre is part of Downing’s mixed use Atlas development, in Vauxhall, London.

Located on the lower floors of a new 32 storey student accommodation building, the public leisure centre offers a fully equipped gymnasium, 25metre swimming pool and numerous fitness and exercise studios.

Abacus Consult were appointed to carry out the full mechanical and electrical services design.

Tower Wharf

Abacus Consult were appointed to provide full M&E Consultancy Services on this prestige 5000m2 new build office project. Category A speculative office design was completed initially before the end user came to the table. The M&E services design was then adapted to suit the final architectural layouts in accordance with the clients requirements.

Verde

Consisting of two separate buildings at 12 storeys and 10 storeys high, the Verde is a purpose built, student accommodation development which includes 543 student bedrooms, a cinema, student gymnasium, games rooms and amenity areas.

Located in the centre of Newcastle, close to the university and opposite St James’ Park, the Verde is a prestigious project forming part of the Universities Science Central Masterplan.

Abacus provided full MEP design services for the project.

Walmgate

The project is situated adjacent to the River Wharf in York city centre and provides 652 student bedrooms across 3 blocks along with a new gym and common room areas.

Abacus Consult carried out the MEP services design for this project. The project was part new build and part refurbishment to an existing factory building with external services routes below ground between buildings.

X1 Liverpool One

This scheme comprised of 331 high quality self-contained student studios built over 3 blocks, located in a prime city centre location. The scheme includes a range of amenities from on-site gym, cinema and laundry to retail units on the ground floor.

Abacus Consult have carried out the detailed design of M&E services including thermal modelling, sbem calculations and energy performance certificates for all studios.

X1 The Edge

The Edge is a new build student development in the heart of Liverpool city centre for X1 Developments, consisting of 231 beds with a mixture of study beds and associated management, communal and recreation facilities.

Abacus Consult carried out the full design of the M&E services on this scheme and the design of the building and associated services needed to be sympathetic to the surrounding context whilst accentuating the unusually shaped plot and its proximity to the Georgian terraces buildings directly opposite to the site on Seymour Street.

Yew Tree House

This new build residential scheme located in Calderstones Park comprised 12 No. exclusive 2 & 3 bedroom luxury apartments each with private terrace and including residents gymnasium and underground car park.
